FAQs

What age range is best suited to play Earth Treasure Hunt? How much help will the child need from a grown-up?

Earth Treasure Hunt is created for kids 6 years and older, specifically children who are unlikely to put small objects in their mouths. The grown-ups know best if a game with a small dinosaur tooth is appropriate for their child.

Some children may require help reading the clues and information about each treasure. Older children may be able to play the game entirely on their own.

What are the treasures included? Will the treasures I receive match those shown on the website?

Each Earth Treasure Hunt includes a magnifying glass with 600% magnification, a collection of high-grade crystals and rocks, an invisible ink pen with UV light, magnetic putty with rare earth magnet, an iridescent peacock feather, two grade A, polished geode halves, and two 100+ million-year-old fossils—an Ammonite and a small Spinosaurus tooth. Each treasure is accompanied with information explaining the treasure.

Each Earth Treasure Hunt is unique. Because the treasures are naturally formed and not mass-produced, there will be some variations. The website pictures have attempted to show an accurate range of shapes and sizes for the various crystals, gemstones, feathers, geodes and fossils. All kits use the same high-quality, highly-graded pieces. There are simply natural variations within those categories. The quality is the same across all kits, though individual pieces may look a bit different.

For the tools, the magnifying glasses are all identical. There will be a variety of colors for the UV light pens and magnetic putty.

Can Earth Treasure Hunt be played more than once?

Like any treasure hunt, Earth Treasure Hunt is a game of specific clues and discovery and is meant to be played until all treasures are discovered. To continue the fun, there are “Explore” cards included, each with ideas for further experimentation and observation, using the treasures and the tools from the hunt. Once a child has the scientific tools and the curiosity, treasure can be found anywhere!
